Homeschooling vs. Discipleship

*Do you find your self straying from the original purpose and vision that you first started with?  Is it going the way you hoped? Do you find yourself wanting to live life instead of ‘homeschooling’?. Do we understand what the difference between homeschooling and discipling is? How did Jesus disciple his 12? Come and explore these concepts.

SECHE Students and Parents!

Here is an opportunity for learning about our government directly and meeting some of our present legislators. These are typically smaller groups with opportunity for direct questions from the people to the legislators and even visiting with them one on one after the mtg. These are not just learning experiences for use in the future but you can be directly involved and make an effect right now These legislators have many tasks that they really could use some help with and homeschoolers have quite flexible schedules to fit these opportunities. If you ask they’ll tell you.

Come with some questions on an issue or 2 that you are concerned or interested in. We can best expend our energies where we are and see how we can affect changes toward what our founding fathers and the constitution intended, as they followed God’s principles

Kevin has to moderate so we have to be there. It would be great to see some other homeschoolers there too. Call us if you have any questions at 368-2632. Kevin and Dar DeGroot

PS. There is a larger more formal Legislative coffee at the top of Downtown Holiday Inn in SF for all the area districts combined, the same days from 10-11:30am too. This is nice too, but it is less cozy.

District 12 and Tea Area

Legislative Coffee’

Representatives Manny Steele and Hal Wick plus Senator Sandy Jerstad will be in Tea for discussion on issues and to answer any questions concerning our district and surrounding area.

When: Saturday, January 26 and February 9, from 1 to 3 pm.
Where: Living Hope Community Church on 305 W. Brian St. in Tea—next to the pool.

Questions: Call Kevin or Darlene DeGroot at 368-2632 or email dardegroot@aol.com

special needs

Auto Date Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Hello,

I am new to this site. I am curious if there happens to be any special needs families connected with SECHE? I live in Parker, moved to SD in April of 2007 from WA state.

Have 4 children, ages 6, 4, 13 mo., and 6 weeks.

Oldest has Autism….planning on homeschooling next schoolyear…researching now, “practicing” in the summer, basically getting my ducks in a row.

Thank you!
